Lose weight with Breakfast cereal
Special K is the name of a popular breakfast cereal made by Kellogg's. The marketing department of this company claims that you can lose up to six pounds in two weeks if you eat their cereal and do some other things too. This is how the Special K diet plan works. Eat two bowls of Special K cereal and a regular dinner meal and you will lose up to 2-3 pounds per week. This is a simple, decreased calorie diet.
The Special K Diet Meal Plan
1. Eat a serving of Kellogg's Special K, Kellogg's Special K Red Berries or Kellogg's Smart Start cereal for breakfast with 2/3 cup of skim milk and fruit. 2. Replace either lunch or dinner with the cereal meal. 3. Eat fresh fruit or vegetables for snacks and consume beverages as you normally do. 4. Eat your third meal as you normally would.
However before you decide on opting for the Special K diet plan, you must also know that such a plan may not be useful for the long term. It is true that crash diets work fast, but the fact is that, the minute you come off it, you are sure to gain all the weight back. The same holds good for the Special K diet plan as well.
The Special K Diet will actually help you lose some weight at the start, but it's no different to any diet on which your calorie intake is restricted. So it isn't as though it's really that "special" after all. People who have tried it say they couldn't stay on it for long. With the Special K Diet plan also you will go through hunger pangs and crave for food - just as you would on any calorie controlled diet.
However, if your eye is on the fat content, the news is still good. A single serving of the cereal has only 2 grams of fat and zero saturated fat. But according to Kellogg's themselves, the Special K is only a starter plan.
Although it is not suitable for, or intended to offer long term, permanent weight loss, it is likely that you would lose weight using the Special K Diet for short term weight loss.
